2022 Reading Log and Stats

Another year is over. This one has been…difficult. Both reading and writing. I’ve been dealing with varying levels of depression and anxiety and boy does it show, both in my writing and my reading outputs. I almost didn’t write this post, but hey, at least I tracked this year. It was a step—a small one, back to myself, if you will. I’ve started writing by hand, going back to how I first started as a wee young fan fictions writer. There were bright points of the year, that also contributed to a lower reading/writing output, specifically taking up crocheting again. I learned as a kid, and now that I have a tiny girl squad of nieces to crochet for, I always have a few projects going that distract me from reading.

Reading has always been my happy spot. My safety spot. The pandemic has made it harder to retreat into this spot. As has social media and the world at large seeming to melt down. I don’t make resolutions. It only adds to my stress/anxiety levels. But I do intend to be more deliberate about my media consumption and read more and more diversely this year.

Anywho. Here it is. The stats.

The big numbers.

Far from my best year, but I’m proud of myself for staying steady for the most part as far as time it took me to read books, pages per day etc.

This is the 2023 TBR List of New Releases

I’ve started keeping a list of books that are coming out so I don’t have to constantly look them up. As soon as I see one I’m interested in or purchase a new book, I add it to the TBR List to help keep up with what I have/what I’m interested in.

For new newsletter subscribers, I’ll be sending out a list of my top books for the year as part of my “welcome” campaign, so if you want to see which books were my fav of the year, subscribe to my newsletter!

May 2023 be what it will be as long as it involves more books for me :)
